Scholarship Program Coming 
Fall 2024

The Coastwise Prize for Investing Excellence exists to promote and inspire financial education among students to help them become more competent, aware, and wise when managing personal finances and investments.

 

By creating an incentive for students to research and explore these important lifelong money management concepts, we assist in developing today's youth, fostering intelligent and integrity-based thought in the decision making processes relating to their financial futures.

Eligible Applicants:  

Grades 10th-12th attending the following schools:

  • La Jolla High School

  • The Bishop's School

  • Torrey Pines High School

  • La Jolla Country Day School

  • The Preuss School

Over $2000 of scholarship prizes & awards will be presented

The Coastwise Mission 

Education is power and acquiring a degree provides you with a lifetime of knowledge & experience. We place emphasis on using this knowledge and experience to navigate the realm of personal finance.

The Awards Ceremony will be held in La Sala Lounge of La Jolla's famous Beach & Tennis Club. Enjoy a fun event with a view at the Coastwise Prize for Investing Excellence.

The Process

Register and submit your response to the prompt on the registration page. Deadline for submission is TBD. You will receive a confirmation email stating your entry has been submitted.

The top 20 applicants from each grade will be invited to an awards ceremony on TBD, where the scholarship winners will be named.

​

At the awards ceremony, all finalists will be eligible to compete in a simulated investing competition for a chance at additional prizes.

Register for the Scholarship

Register for the scholarship under the Register Tab. There you will find a submission box to enter your info and submit your response to the prompt. 

Awards Ceremony

If you are selected as a finalist you will be  invited to the final awards ceremony on TBD, where scholarship recipients will be announced.

Submit an Essay 

Write an essay (no more than 1000 words) discussing your educational & financial goals.
